Hansadhwani’s Cultural Wing is dedicated to preserving, practising and promoting the cultural heritage of Assam and India. Through education, performance, research, documentation and creative engagement, we aim to keep traditions alive while inspiring new generations to learn, participate and contribute.
Preservation of Cultural Heritage
Hansadhwani works to preserve traditional customs, indigenous knowledge, folklore, food, crafts, rituals and community practices through learning, documentation and cultural engagement, ensuring that valuable traditions are understood, appreciated and carried forward.
Literature & Creative Writing
We encourage storytelling, poetry, script writing and creative expression through workshops, literary discussions and interactions with writers, helping young learners explore language, imagination, folklore and the rich literary traditions of our communities.
Traditional Music & Instruments
Hansadhwani promotes classical, folk and modern music along with traditional instruments such as Flute, Dotara, Khol, Dhol, Pepa and Gagana, while encouraging performance, learning and preservation of musical traditions.
Dance, Theatre, Mime & Performing Arts
Through Sattriya, classical and folk dance, drama, mime and theatre workshops, Hansadhwani creates opportunities to learn performance, acting, stagecraft and storytelling while encouraging both traditional practices and contemporary creative expression.
Cultural Education for Young Generations
Through the proposed Cultural School, Hansadhwani aims to introduce children and young people to music, dance, theatre, literature, arts, crafts and traditional knowledge through practical learning, workshops and interactive cultural experiences.
Research & Cultural Documentation
Hansadhwani seeks to document changing and disappearing traditions through research, photography, filmmaking, interviews, oral histories and written records, creating a valuable cultural repository for learners, researchers and future generations.
Library, Learning & Knowledge Sharing
The proposed Library and Research Learning Centre will provide a space for reading, cultural studies, research, literary exploration, archival learning and the exchange of knowledge between artists, scholars, students and communities.
Nurturing Artists & Cultural Practitioners
Hansadhwani aims to support emerging artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, craftspeople and performers through workshops, exhibitions, screenings, cultural programmes and community platforms that encourage creativity, collaboration and meaningful cultural participation.
